Messrs. Pigeon and Robin enjoyed the fancy feastings of our back lawn yesterday. I happened to be getting more hot water for my hot water bottle when I noticed these two handsome young fellows posing for the camera. I really think they were posing for their sweethearts...who weren't too far away.
Coming out of the house this morning, the sound was almost a deafening cacophony of bird twitters everywhere, from boistrous crows and sweet nuthatches to choruses of robins, wrens and chickadees...all singing in their own language. Beautiful...kind of like a multi-cultural ornithological choir.
Then tonight, when I came into our kitchen to get yet more hot water for the hot water bottle (which nightly has been snuggled on my lower back) there was Miss Brittney cooking up some "peanut butter cup cookies". They were ever-so-delicious...after trying one, of course. She was testing this recipe out for her bake-off in cooking class. Her pina colada muffins won the last bake-off. Perhaps she will be following in her mothers footsteps.
