OK. We got ourselves a 46" TV on sale from the local Co-Op store that is selling out to move to another location. Then you have to get a new stand as the one we have is no longer adequate to hold it. One thing leads to another when buying stuff, don't you think? One day we will get a larger TV for the living room and move this one into our bedroom so when that day comes we will have 2 TVs plus one stand to give to our friends who don't have TVs at all. Is this how consumerism continues on its merry way? We want bigger and better and HDand LCD and all those other types of luring acronyms. Whatever happened to plain old TV? Am I getting old, or what???? But, I console myself by saying that others will reap from our leftovers. That's just something to feel good about, now isn't it? No. But we are keeping consumerism healthy, alive and even prospering...so why do I feel a strange pang of uneasiness in all this? That was a rhetorical question to myself, by the way. I know the answer. I know it is because there are others who don't even have places to live or food to eat or clothes to wear....and here we are consuming. I thought I had begun to be on the road that says "you have enough already!!!".....the road that says "over-indulgence" is just another word for "spoiled", and the road that goes the route of leaving behind our wants and desires. Guess I'm not on that road quite yet!
I had better get a map!
So, here is our over-indulgence....in HD. I liked the channel entitled "Oasis". I learned a lot about jackals.
...and husband watched hockey....
and others will get our "old" TV and stand....
How am I doin'?
Don't think I've quite convinced myself yet, but I know I'll be workin' on it!!! Lord have mercy on my greedy soul!!!
(UPDATE: it's a 42" NOT 46"....42...46....no big difference to me, it has a great picture and that's all that matters!!)

It is relatively modest.
Lord forgive us all!
