Stepping into Ms. P's office today, I simply had to go back and retrieve my camera!
She is a superb biologist and her office consists of many and varied corners of wonderment. I happened upon a skull sitting on her window sill. Most of you probably know what it is....I was thinking coyote or fox or some such thing. I could be totally wrong. She wasn't there to straighten me out.
One of her orchids was in bloom also. This one above is a variegated species.
Hanging gloriously from the ceiling was a hoya plant...in bloom. Some blooms weren't out fully, while others were looking radiant. These plants are so unusual. Their little single blooms look waxy and almost fake in their perfection.....all hanging in clusters from a thick-leafed hanging tropical plant. Oh my....so grand.....
I found a great deal of beauty on a regular, ordinary Friday.
Daughter then treated us to Chinese food for supper. Fantastic!!!
And this evening, we went to a packed out concert at the John M. Cuelenaere Library. Michael Lett, a local, home-grown fellow is studying music at McGill University and presented a jazz concert to the total delight of everyone. Michael Langlois was on the piano, Rick Lett (the dad) played bass guitar and the drummer was Darcy Sander. Andrea Lett (a sister) sang a couple of jazz numbers too....wow.....IT WAS SOMETHING ELSE!!!! (It could easily have been at the Rawlinson centre but that would be so costly to rent, I'm sure!!!! Good old library auditorium comes to the rescue again!!!)
All in all, a good day was had....by me, in particular.
