It's nearly fall. Officially, in another few weeks but it feels like the season has changed from the sweetness and laziness of hot summer evenings to crisp mornings that make you want to wear gloves...and heaven forbid, socks!
The gathering has begun.
The produce from gardens is being made ready for the long winter.
Grains are being gathered up and harvested for the bins.
The birds of a feather are feeling the need to flock up and get to know their neighbors. There are still some who don't want to face that reality just yet (top pic)!
Husband and I last week took a peek into this process just east of town and then we made our way to the Farmer's Market where my friend and her husband were presenting the fruits of their labor....Twila & John.
It's hard work gathering. People have been doing that since the beginning of time....and birds have been getting together in flocks to fly south....well, ever since I can remember.;-)
As people, we are so dependent on the weather for this all to be successful. Sometimes we have drought, other times floods or hail or wind or insects or fire. A miriad of possible disasters.
So, when we manage to have a successful gathering of the harvest, it is good to say "thank you"...to our God who provides us with every good thing.
And I shall do just that. "Thanks God!."
