Not to be outdone, but I think Prince Albert also, could be called "The City of Bridges". We have four of them and perhaps more, within our city limits.
I do think they are engineering masterpieces.....any bridge. Our little bridge here (in comparison to some like the Confederation Bridge), do the job they were intended to do...they get us up and over particular bodies of water - most of which are rivers but some are peninsulas, lakes or streams. Basically, they get us over obstacles!
I can't imagine the whole thought process that goes into the architecture of a bridge, nor the engineering process to carry it through. Amazing.
The bridges above (1) The Little Red River "Swinging Bridge", (2) Foot Bridge at Little Red River Park (3) train bridge over North Saskatchewan River (with highway traffic bridge in background) (4) looking down the tracks which carry trains over our said river. I must say being on the swinging bridge gets my stomach churning just a bit, not to mention taking the bottom picture where I'm standing in the middle of the train track. It was a bit chancy on my part but looking at the strength of that bridge gave me confidence that those trains would get safely over the river.
I think Jesus is like a bridge. He carries us over the many obstacles of life and gets us safely to our Heavenly Father, on the other side. First though, we must actually acknowledge the bridge exists.....
