Kind of interesting seeing fall make its grand entrance.
First the cloud comes edging its way over this huge expanse of prairie.
Then the wind comes whirling and ploughing through the fields of grain, bending and pushing the stocks into submission. The combines try frantically to beat out the wind...going all day and into the night..swathing and gathering all the grain they can before the killing frost.
But it isn't just an ordinary wind either. This wind that howls and roars into the Queen City comes from the great North where cold has become the norm. It makes you want to wear socks and a jacket...dare I say....mitts. It makes you close your windows at night. It makes you want to turn the furnace on.
They say now rain is expected during the next few days too.
I'm wondering if it will turn white......
Oh, and we spoke with son this morning on Skype. He doesn't have a web cam yet but it was great to hear his voice nonetheless. There's just something about hearing a person's voice instead of communicating through email and such and perhaps next time he'll have a web cam up and running. Being that we were all here together, we could speak with him and at least he could see us. It was all very good.
Good night all. I trust the church supper tonight was successful too....raising money for a church in the Congo. Great job Patrick!!!!
