Bread...the stuff of life....

Yesterday, son and daughter came out with us for coffee and toast.  We asked the gal behind the counter to take a picture of the four of us (below) and this is what we have....complete with newly acquired finger print on the lens...right over husbands and my face...just as well, I say.

Matt helped Shannon move into her new place and in between times he baked his family some spelt flax bread which was sliced and shared at the supper table.  It was a bit like corn bread in its texture, kind of nutty in flavor and very, very delicious.  What a son!!  (Note: I still haven't noticed the finger print on the lens!!)

Matt kneading....6 minutes worth....spelt flour, I'm told, is much easier to digest than wheat flour.

Good strong, delicate hands for the task!

This was the ball of dough....:-)

Here is Mr. Stove Man eating up Mr. Dough Ball in it's oven mouth.

Voila!  Two lovely Spelt Flax loaves.

All sliced up ready to eat along with a spinach salad plus a few extras like deer roast,
potatoes, carrots and corn....no dessert....:-(

That was the end of a busy day.......'nite....
