Yes, this week is the first time I have felt that fall tinge in the air. Something in the wind and the clouds are looking different for the first time as fall approaches. They look harsher, heavier, darker, colder.
I know we will have a few days of summer temps in the next while, but I'm afraid the long, luxurious days of summer have already ended. Driving down 22nd street the maple trees have shed many of their already yellow leaves and are lying in piles on the asphalt below. Good grief!!!
Why do I live in a place with such a short summer????
Well, I suppose it's better than living in a place with earthquakes, tidal waves, floods, volcanoes or war.
Sleep well. At least the nights are cooler!
