Weekend fun...

We plopped our trailer into a spot at Waskesiu for our friends to use.  No big deal.  It was one of the things we said we would do with the trailer when we bought it.  Like children, we are learning to share what we have with others:)

We are learning that doing things like this should be second nature to us, as Christians. But more than sharing, it's really about loving our neighbor.  Jesus said in Luke 19:19b "love your neighbor as yourself."  In other words, I guess it means showing mercy and grace to all and to accept others, unconditionally....because that is what we would like for ourselves.

Hmmmm.....how would I want to be shown love by a neighbor.  Perhaps they would just say "hello" over the fence, or maybe they would come to my rescue when I needed to get somewhere and offered a ride when I had no vehicle.  Little things can mean life or death to our neighbors, in a sense.  A plate of cookies to your neighbor who has a lot of company, or using whatever gift you have to help someone else out....giving your coat to a person who hasn't one, some groceries to a family in distress, some time just sitting and being with someone.   There are a kazilion ways to be of help to our "neighbors".

I know people who do this "loving your neighbor" thing really well.  They go out of their way to be of assistance...much more than anyone knows.  But that is the way it should be done, with a sense of humility and not telling anyone else about your good deeds.   I, on the other hand, have a very long way to go in this regard.  But I shall keep watching others do this type of loving, and perhaps then I will learn too.

So, it has been fun this weekend.  Helping our neighbor, saying farewell to a friend, having a potluck together and trying to keep cool.  I hope yours was good too.
 Phil, getting organized.

 Relaxing....at last!

Enjoy your evening....the days surely are shortening up, eh?
