The last hurrah...

Last weekend we took some time to enjoy the Little Red River Park. The sun was warm, the breeze cool and it was as if it was presenting itself in this lovely form as a last hurrah....before everything begins to turn shades of gold and yellow, before the shadows lengthen into the shorter days of fall.
I'm not a lover of fall. The colors are very pretty but soon they disappear into a vast greyness, a colorlessness that makes my senses cringe. I begin to long for the lovliness of winter and the snow that covers autumn's bleakness. Ya, people say I'm a little strange alright. I'm OK with that.
Husband and I took advantage of the still-lushness of summer colors that day....but all of this will change quickly in the approaching weeks. The little cabin in the top picture will soon be filled with excited skiiers and a warm fire, toes being warmed and cocoa being consumed.....when the S N O W flies.
In due time, I tell myself.....all in due time.......;-)
