This day has been filled with great joy. It began with a Thanksgiving church service followed by a Thanksgiving turkey dinner to say farewell and honor Pastor Randall Friesen, his wife Lauralea and their four children, Johanna (Croes), Hillary, Thomas and Micah. It was good. It IS good to be able to say thank you to people who have helped you through 10+ years of your life. They will be missed....
This day has also been filled with overwhelming sorrow. My dear Aunt Connie died today. She has been a very great part of our family over the last 25+ years. She has been an aunt to nieces and nephews on her husbands side of the family as well as to all of us "Bensons". I shall write more about her life as the weeks progress...but for now, I grieve....
Saying farewell.... one of the difficult experiences of life.

I wondered if that was what the phone call was for you this morning during the service... You are a strong woman to keep it together on a day with so many good-byes today. Strength and peace to you tonight. And much love.
Thanks Dixie. The call was to say she was most likely not going to be with us very much longer.
God was gracious to allow us to celebrate this morning, have our dinner together with the Friesens, and go up to see Aunt Connie before she passed away.
We are hoping the funeral will be Thursday.

Life seems so fleeting sometimes... days like today, I guess. Where you realize that you need to appreciate what and who you have while you have them.

So sorry to hear of Connie's passing on, sort of a mixed blessing.
This will be a day you remember.
Will be praying for you cause even if these things are anticipated they are still hard.
