A birthday.....and a practice.....

But before I talk about the practice, I need to wish my dear girlfriend, Loretta, a most blessed, happy and wonderful birthday tomorrow.  We go back a very long way.  We know things about each other that no one else does....the good, the bad and the ugly, as it were....and yet, we love each other deeply.  Friendship.  Love.  They both overlooks the others faults to allow everything good to come to the fore.  If the truth be known, we are opposite in many ways, and yet we have grown to appreciate one another for who we are.

So, Happy Birthday my friend.  May this year be filled with good and exciting things for you.  You are beautiful.....and I love you....

Now, getting back to this practice thing, it takes a lot to prepare a church worship service. Being that I'm in the middle of packing up a house and preparing for a garage sale as well, I have also managed, with the help of the good Lord, to get the service together and in order for this Sunday,  and organize a practice for the worship team, of which I am a part.  Six of us practiced songs this evening.  Some played instruments and two of us sang.  Our pastors are on vacation too, for the next little while, so we're stepping up and meeting the challenge (like we did the year we didn't have a pastor!!).  Our pianist returns home too, at the end of the month after a time with her family in the UK but in her absence, V. has very beautifully taken over those responsibilities.  It is good to share these kinds of things together, so one person doesn't get overly burned out or stressed.  That is what I enjoy about this worship team....ya, their sense of "teamwork"!!!:-)

So, I trust that this Sunday will be worshipful to God and that it will be a time of offering ourselves in service, once again, to a Holy God.  He is worthy........

I was first to wish Loretta an impersonal Facebook birthday greeting! That's as good as I can do.

Getting burned is not a good thing. That's why it's good to spread around the worship duties. I know that while I've been back in worship that Steve, one of the pastors who has led most Sundays, hasn't always led even though he has played. It's always good to step back from leading and just play or be a singer. It's good to spread the duties of leading worship around.
