Grief......

I believe that experiencing a death and the ensuing grief is one of the most difficult of all emotions.  It grips us to near unconsciousness, choking the life out of us and then lets us go to breathe again...only to find this happening time and time again until we are weary of it all.

We would just like to hide.

And just when we think we can't possibly take another moment of pain, it begins to lessen it's strangle hold ever-so-slightly and our lives begin the slow process of "healing".

This feeling we get of course, not only happens with the death of someone we care about.  It happens when we lose something...anything....of value to us.  A job, a marriage, a pet, ones self-respect, an arm or a leg....we all feel the same sense of loss to varying degrees.

When  we find ourselves in the presence of someone who is experiencing loss of any kind, it's always good to simply listen to them.  It's part of their healing......and of course, we all know that to be true, but sometimes we forget because we're busy with our own "stuff".

So ya, remember to listen......it's vital to someones' well-being.
