The transformation....

Like me, our Christmas tree will be transformed....made into something beautiful.  She came into our home all rigid, frozen, bound up and not really looking like much.  The grower had high hopes for her.  He took her in his arms and said "this looks like a really nice one, just by the feel of it...it's a first class tree by the tag on it's branch.  I really think you'll like her when you get her home!".

But given a chance to thaw and offering her a few quarts of much needed water, she began to soften and warm up to our living room.  The grower was right!  She's a beauty!

I think that is how we are before we feel God's love for us.  We're all bound up in ourselves.  We find it difficult to really warm up to any one or any thing for fear of someone seeing our true selves.  So, we just keep cold and rigid and all tied up with nylon yarn for fear if people really saw how our branches unfolded, no one could possibly love us or appreciate our imperfections.

But God loves us no matter how our branches fall, no matter how many bare spots we have.  We try to put them to the wall side thinking that even God won't see these places.....we forget that he made us with these holes in the first place.

So, today my friends....let your branches fall where they may.  Like mine, they probably won't be a perfect shape,  but they make up our very own unique design.  If it's good enough for God, it should be good enough for me!!!

Bring on the old tinsel, the tattered decorations and ratty garland....all of that won't matter in the darkness  when the Light is twinkling!!!

The thaw...

She's a beauty, for sure....

Tomorrow she will be decorated.

My first thought after thinking, "Wow, that tree is really pretty!", was, "Wait a minute, that's another pine tree!"

Yes, the tree has incredible beauty no matter if it's a pine or a spruce. It will look even better all dolled up, I'm sure.

I liked that metaphor, too:)

Carole just gave me a lesson in tree identification...She figures this is a fir....go figure. Either way, yes, she's a sweet looking gal!

Looking forward to your arrival and we can sit and enjoy the season:)
