I forgot to tell you...

I was going to tell you the story about "The Great Camp Reservation" day....last week.  I had almost forgotten....and HOW could I have forgotten THAT day???!!!

Waking up several times in the night, readying myself for the event of the year, going over everything in my mind......I was exhausted by 6:45 AM!

The computer was on the ready too, on the camp site we wanted...just ready to give the mouse a "click" to reserve our spot.

The time of day was set to coincide with Greenwich Mean Time so that when the clock said 7 AM, I could click that mouse and all would be good.

First problem arose when I clicked the mouse at 7 AM.  The Federal Reservation website for National Parks (in Quebec!!!) must have been off by a few seconds.  Dang.  I was not deterred.  Even though I was kicked out of that particular page, I wasn't kicked off the entire site...as had happened in previous years.  Back in I went slugging.  Entering the correct dates for the site we chose...but our first choice site had already been snapped up by another Internet speed demon.  Try again.  This time another site.  Nope.  Already taken.  Another site....well, blow me down!  It was good to go....I actually got to press the word "continue".  And we managed to get all reserved for the maximum allowed 3 weeks.

We knew granddaughter would be working up there and we wanted to help her out as best we could by providing her accommodation at the trailer park...so....away I went looking for another site for the last week in June.  Amazingly there was a spot that we grabbed up quickly...last week in June.  So we would only have to move our trailer once.  Not too bad.  There were years when we had to move two or three times.

When all was done and husband and I sat back thinking about our great fortune at getting a camp site, I texted granddaughter to let her know.

Her reply...."Whoop whooooop....I'M SOOOO EXCITED!!!!"  And so she is!!!

Yes, after two long years without a vacation away from home of any kind, we will be heading off to Waskesiu for a beautiful, restful, long month of swimming (hopefully), walking (hopefully), taking pictures and having fun with our sweet girl.  I doubt whether bike riding will be on my radar by then, but who knows.  If this knee keeps improving like it has these past few weeks, a bike ride may be in order.  Yesterday and today I have been walking with just a cane....and no tensor bandage for the first time in three months!  Exercises are very difficult but I am determined.  Out with the Tylenol 3's.  Work looks closer all the time.  Yes!!  Now if I could just go up and down stairs...without a cane!

I'm working hard...
