Try to remember...

"Try to remember the kind of September
When life was slow and oh, so mellow.
Try to remember the kind of September
When grass was green and grain was yellow.
Try to remember the kind of September
When you were a tender and callow fellow.
Try to remember, and if you remember,
Then follow....follow...follow....follow....." Song sung in 1965 by Ed Ames...my high school grad year!!!

Ya, it was that kind of day.  Off we went for a drive to Waskesiu...in September...the grass WAS green and the lake was oh, sooooo blue. Shadows have grown significantly since July.  It was slow paced and simply lovely.  We had to top it off with a Big Olaf Sundae!

We hit the Trading Post for pizza buns!

The still-messed-up boardwalk from the July storm.  The Feds
won't cough up the cash to repair or replace it...so they just nail up a 2 x 4! I'll bet
one doesn't see a boardwalk boarded up anywhere east of Manitoba!!! (I could go on!!)

 The blues are so.....blue.....

Piles and piles of drift wood along shore.
The only calm, cloudless day on our vacation was the day the beach
was closed!  But look at today...calm and beautiful!

Folks ventured out on the breakwater...preferably without shoes!

Sun is lower....well, not really, but you know what I mean...
It really was a beauty of a day!
 Long shadows....

A mom and daughter chat...with iced mint tea from The EverGreen

 Gramps joined the discussion.

Back home.  Everything is so green....still!

I love little mini vacations...even if they last only a few hours.  This one was perfect!
