I have a scout....

Her name is Wendy.  She and I go back a ways.  Seems like she's still looking out for me in various ways.  I was sitting down a few minutes ago to do my previous post with pictures of this afternoon and she phoned to tell me to get back outside as the sky was all pink and that I should be taking my camera with me.  She has a view of sunsets too!

So I went.  Hardly had time to say "good-bye" to her, let alone have a conversation.  Sunsets are fleeting.  You capture them at the right moment....or they're gone....

Here's what I saw.

So, thanks Wendy!!!  I'll  depend on you to continue being my trusty scout from now on.

But truthfully, it's days like this when I realize just how much of an amateur photographer I really am.  The man next door, now HE is a professional...but I forget his name at the moment.  Anyway, the colors are still pretty.

A lazy afternoon....

I took my chair out the back door and sat overlooking the river this afternoon.

I notice already the subtle changing of the colors from lush bright green to hints of golden and rust.

I really hope you don't get too bored with the pictures I post on here as it will be more of the same as time goes on and the seasons change.  It just needs capturing.  One day though, I shall attempt to go out and sit....just sit.  No camera.  I'm not sure if I can do it.

Anyway, here is what I enjoyed for an hour around 2 p.m. today.

I wonder what opportunities tomorrow will bring.  As for today, it was just an active place as I sat watching various birds, aircraft, bugs, wildflowers, canoeists and clouds, not to mention the trees and water.

Enjoy your evening.

An evening with the sun & son....

OK...I'm just so excited to live beside the river.  Hop out my back door and I'm faced with magnificent scenery like this.  It's just so easy.  I can't believe it!  All I have to do is grab my Olympus and the rest is up to God!!!

I enjoyed taking pictures of Matt, taking pictures.

Canoeists were enjoying the river too.

The beauty of an early September sunset.

The eastern view of the North Saskatchewan River.

So much beauty right outside my back door....I'm blessed.

Brittney and Shannon joined the fun in the back yard.

Not sure if I'll be able to take in so much loveliness in a day.  The changing of the seasons will make for some great photo ops.  As I've said before, I'M EXCITED!!!

And now the great bidding card game is taking place in the dining room.  Think I'll go and see what all the "silence" is about.:-)

He followed me...

I recognized his voice.  A bit higher than most males I've known but that's how life goes.  Some have big baritone voices, others higher pitched.

This fellow had his good clothes on too, so I wasn't quite sure of his intentions.  Do clothes really make the man?  I don't think so, but I think this poor guy only had one suit of clothes as every time I had seen him, he wore this bright blue one with bits of black and white intermingled in the pattern.  He seemed to have family around him at various times but he was a bit of a loner when it came to eating out.  He never seemed to bring his kids with him for whatever reason...lack of resources, not sure.  I had at various times too noticed him at a few dumpsters around the neighborhood.  He didn't seem to care about that fact, as finding food to him seemed like a full-time job.  When one is hungry, one must do what one must do.  Guess I've never been that desperate.

So, today when I heard him speaking quite loudly outside our living room balcony, I knew it was him.  Being in an apartment now, he wasn't able to get my door combination, so he simply stayed below on the grass, hoping I would find it in my heart to toss some food over the railing.  I knew it was my job to help him, so I went into the kitchen and found something he'd hopefully like....at least perhaps he could take what I gave him to feed his family.  His voice was getting louder too.  Not sure if the apartment neighbors heard him or not and I know I'll probably get in trouble for feeding this guy, but I hate to see needs not being met.

My pal from our former house had followed me down to our new River Street apartment.  He always did love peanuts.  He ate until he was full.

I do love Blue Jays....and this guy is a beauty!  Don't you think so?

Transformation...

From this at the old place...

to this at the new place.....

Son came home to help put things together too.

Wheeeeuuuuuuuuuuu

Let's see.....

where was I.....

Ya, I'm baaaaa-aaaaaack....

But I have no time to post anything beyond this, just yet.

And having the computer in the guest bedroom, well, it isn't quite condusive to elaborating on anything of significance when the guest wants to go to bed!

I'll sneek something here when he's out....

Just so you know...

I won't be around here for a time.  Internet connections won't be hitched up until sometime next week.

I also won't know what to do with myself............that was a joke, by the way.

House is looking scary.

New place is looking scarier.

It will be good to get settled.

So, until I'm connected to you again......adieu........
